The times when the entire family had to quarrel over a paper map
during traveling are now long gone, due to the invention of GPS
systems. What was once thought to belong only to sci-fi movies,

Here is a little bit of insight on how these satellites work. They
weigh about 3,000-4,000 pounds and they draw their energy from the
sun. The speed with which they travel is 12,0000 miles or 19,300
km, that allows them to circle the Earth two times in twenty four
hours. They are displayed in a certain fashion that guarantees the
presence of four satellites in the sky in the same time, in the
so called visible sky from a certain point on the planet. Even if
we do not see them with the open eye, they are there and they are
responsible for translating the signals they get from a GPS receiver
in a car into map coordinates and then send them back. This process
is known as trilateration and it is a mathematical calculation.
There are still some drawbacks that cannot be ignored. When weather
conditions are bad and the sky is compact with clouds, the signals
transmitted between the satellites and the GPS systems are hindered
to get from one part to the other at a normal speed. Manufacturers
are thinking about new ways to lower this nuisance and to give their
customers products that can surpass this issue of the GPS systems.
The further the distance from the satellite, the longer the time
for receiving info. But the GPS systems are capable of coping with
the situation and after a little time necessary for making the mathematical
calculations, the position will be rendered on the GPS device screen.
There are many uses for GPS systems. One and maybe the best known
